STAND!'s 22nd Annual Rebuilding Lives Luncheon, held October 9, 2014 at the Concord Hilton, was an outstanding success! With more than 400 supporters in attendance, we celebrated the courage of domestic violence survivors and the hard work of all our partners who are working to end family violence in Contra Costa County.
Together we raised more than $120,000, surpassing our goal of $115,000! We couldn't have done it without generous contributions and everyone who attended the event .
From the opening NO MORE video clip to heartfelt stories from our special guests, we feel even more inspired than ever to end family violence! Thanks to keynote speaker and advocate Jennifer Siebel Newsom, emcee and ABC7 news anchor Cheryl Jennings, and domestic violence survivor Menbere Aklilu for making this a memorable event. STAND!'s leadership award was presented to Congressman George Miller, and special thanks to his wife Cynthia Miller for accepting the award.
If you weren't able to join us or would like to share the event with your friends, the luncheon will air on CCTV on Monday, October 27 at 10:00 p.m. and Monday, November 3 at 8:00 p.m. (Comcast channel 27, Astound channel 32, AT&T channel 99)
There are still 22 days left in October, which means you still have time to STAND with us during Domestic Violence Awareness Month (and year round!). Here are a few ways you can take action now:
- Connect with us -- Facebook / Twitter / LinkedIn
- Raise awareness -- visit our website for ways that you can break the silence.
- Volunteer with us.
We are so grateful for the extraordinary individuals who made today a resounding success. We look forward to next year's Rebuilding Lives Luncheon and we hope to see you there!
