Stephanie’s debut memoir, Maid: Hard Work, Low Pay, and a Mother’s Will to Survive details her experiences fleeing a domestic violence relationship with her infant daughter and their subsequent journey navigating safety nets, government assistance, and “the poverty trap”. The memoir also served as the inspiration for Netflix’s Golden Globe and Emmy nominated original series Maid.
